Filter vs Strainer

Depending on the application, a filter is a device through which gas or liquid is passed to remove suspended impurities.  Now a stainer according to Webster’s dictionary, is a filter; but, a strainer removes large matter particles of gas or liquid by the use a mesh screen or perforated plate.

When you have an application for a filter/strainer, please consider the following:

• Short (15.75″OAL) or Long (35.38″OAL)
• T304 or T316L – your choice with a sanitary finish – Single, Twin or Multiple Installations are available
• 1.5″ – 3″ clamp or bevel seat connections
• Straight thru or Side Inlet design is available
• Filters can be ordered with a 1/4″ perforation or over screens are available in various mesh/micron sizes.
• Strainers are available with 1/4″, 1/8″, 3/32″, or 1/16″ holes.
